Privacy Policy
NextFace is built to be low-data and anonymous. There are no accounts, and we collect as little as possible to run a safe service. Last updated: June 2026.

The short version
- No accounts. We don't ask for your name, email, or phone number, and you don't register.
- Your video isn't recorded. Video and audio go peer-to-peer between you and the other person; we don't record or store your streams.
- We moderate for safety. Automated moderation samples still frames from video to detect unsafe content — this is the one place images are processed.
- Minimal logs. We keep only what's needed to run the service and prevent abuse.
What we process
- An anonymous ID stored in your browser (localStorage) so we can manage your session and enforce bans. It isn't tied to your identity.
- Your interests (if you add any) are stored in your browser and sent to the server only to match you with similar people.
- Sampled video frames. To keep video chat safe, the app periodically captures a still frame from your camera and sends it to our moderation system. Frames from normal sessions are analyzed and discarded; frames flagged as unsafe may be stored temporarily so we can review abuse and enforce bans.
- Chat messages are relayed through our server to the person you're matched with so we can operate and moderate the service. We don't build a long-term record of your conversations.
- Operational records such as timestamps, anonymous session entries, moderation events, reports, and bans — used to run and protect the service.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
- We don't record your video or audio calls.
Third parties
To connect two people, browsers exchange network information through STUN/TURN servers; when a direct connection can't be made, encrypted media may be relayed through a TURN server, but it is not stored. Moderation runs on our own infrastructure.
Age
NextFace is for adults 18 and older only. We don't knowingly process data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the service, please contact us so we can act.
Your choices
You can clear the anonymous ID and interests at any time by clearing your browser's site data. For questions or requests about your data, contact hello@nextface.app.
